Guardian Homes

At Morning Glory Doodles we work with the local community to provide the best care for our dogs and puppies. Guardians are the FOREVER FAMILY of their guardian dog.

That’s why we offer a guardian home program. Guardian dogs are raised just like you would raise and care for any dog you bring into your family. Once a female guardian home dog begins her second heat cycle, Morning Glory Doodles would breed her with one of our males. Pregnant females return to their guardian family after breeding, and stay with you during the 63 day pregnancy.

About a week before their due date they will come to Morning Glory Doodles to prepare to give birth. We will be at their side to help them during the birth and until their puppies are weaned. We make sure they’re given lots of affection, good nutrition, grooming and any necessary post birth veterinary care while they’re in our care. Once a guardian home dog retires, he or she is yours forever! There is no cost to be a guardian, beyond the normal care for a pet. Being a guardian is a lifelong commitment to the dog. It is not a foster or temporary arrangement.

Guardian Responsibilities

  • You will be this dog’s forever family, and we ask that you commit to this dog for its lifetime. Once the dog has completed its breeding responsibilities with Morning Glory Doodles, we will have the dog spayed or neutered and ownership will be transferred to you. This is not a temporary, foster, or a “trial period” and should be considered a lifetime commitment to the dog.
  • Guardian will ensure the dog is well socialized and groomed and that routine vet care is maintained
  • You must be willing to deliver her to our care within the guidelines agreed upon
  • Guardian should reside under two hours from Signal Mountain, TN
  • The dog is to be kept safe and be part of your family. The dog must be an indoor dog
  • Morning Glory Doodles will pay for routine vet care for as long as the pet is a guardian dog.

Adult Adoption

We love our sweet moms and dads! When the time comes for them to retire from breeding, our goal is to find them a wonderful, loving home that is the best fit for them. Morning Glory Doodles will ensure that they are spayed or neutered. This will be their forever home, and ownership will transfer to their new family!

Typically, our adults are Golden Retrievers, Irish Setters and Poodles. Occasionally we may have an opportunity to adopt an adult Goldendoodle, Irishdoodle or Bernedoodle.

Please note that we may receive many applications from wonderful families, and our priority will be to ensure the best fit possible for the dog. If there are no current opportunities, we invite you to still apply to be considered for future adoptions.
